the heart, were unknown until recently. Brande (1854) published two cases of endocarditis and pericarditis, respectively, in connection with gonorrhoeal rheumatism. Sigmund (1858) observed two cases of pericarditis in women. Gluzinski has collected thirty-one cases. The following conclusions might be derived from these observations : 1, Pericarditis as well as endocarditis might supervene in the course of gonorrhoea. 2.
